Free Schema Markup Generator — Add Structured Data to Any Page Without Coding

Google’s search results are no longer just blue links. They show star ratings, FAQ dropdowns, breadcrumb trails, author profiles, and business information panels — all pulled directly from structured data embedded in your pages. This is called schema markup, and if your website does not have it, you are invisible in the formats that get the highest click rates.

Most developers in Nepal charge NPR 5,000–15,000 to add schema markup to a few pages. This generator does it for free in under two minutes. Fill in the fields below, click Generate, and get production-ready JSON-LD code you can paste directly into any WordPress page.

What Is Schema Markup — and Why Does It Matter?

Schema markup is structured data you add to your webpage in a format called JSON-LD. It does not change how your page looks to visitors. What it does is give Google, Bing, and AI search engines a machine-readable description of your content — who wrote it, what type of page it is, what questions it answers, what business it represents.

The payoff is rich results. When Google understands your content through schema, it can display:

In Nepal’s growing digital market, almost no small or mid-size businesses have schema markup. If you add it today, you are immediately differentiated from your competitors in search results — not just in ranking position, but in how your result looks and how much space it takes up.

Which Schema Type Should You Use?

This generator supports five schema types. Here is when to use each one:

Schema Type Use On Rich Result Unlocked Priority
Article / BlogPosting Every blog post and article Author byline, publish date, article headline in search High — add to every post
Person Your About page and homepage Knowledge panel with photo, title, and social links Critical for personal brands
LocalBusiness Homepage or Contact page Business info panel, maps integration, contact details Critical for local SEO
FAQPage Any page with Q&A content FAQ accordion dropdowns directly in Google results High — major CTR boost
WebSite Homepage only Sitelinks search box in Google results Medium — one-time setup

Schema Types Explained in Detail

Article / BlogPosting Schema

Every piece of content you publish should carry Article schema. It tells Google the headline, author, publish date, featured image, and publisher. This directly improves how your articles appear in Google Discover, Google News, and standard search results. It also signals freshness — a key ranking factor for news and time-sensitive content. If you run a blog, add Article schema to every single post. It takes two minutes and the long-term compounding effect on your content’s visibility is significant.

Person Schema — Critical for Personal Brands

Person schema is one of the most powerful tools available for personal brand Search Engine Optimization (SEO). When you add it to your homepage or About page with your name, job title, profile photo URL, and social media profiles, Google can connect all your online presence into a single entity. This is how you get your photo, title, and social links to appear when someone searches your name. It also directly influences what AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini say about you when asked about professionals in your field — because these systems rely on structured, machine-readable entity data to build their knowledge.

LocalBusiness Schema

If you serve clients in a specific geography — which most Nepal-based consultants and agencies do — LocalBusiness schema is essential. It feeds Google Maps, the local business panel, and local search results. The generator supports subtypes like MarketingAgency, ConsultingAgency, and ProfessionalService so you can be specific about what you do. Specificity in schema type leads to better matching in relevant searches. A generic “LocalBusiness” type is weaker than “MarketingAgency” for someone searching for a digital marketing agency in Kathmandu.

FAQPage Schema — Biggest Click-Through Rate Impact

FAQ schema is the single highest-impact schema type available to most content creators. When Google activates it, your search result expands to show 2–4 accordion-style question-and-answer pairs directly in the search results page — before the user even clicks. This dramatically increases your result’s visual footprint. A standard search result occupies one line. A result with FAQ schema can occupy six or eight lines. Add FAQ schema to your service pages, tool pages, and any page where you answer common customer questions.

WebSite schema is added once to your homepage. Its main purpose is enabling the Sitelinks Search Box — the search field that appears directly in Google results when someone searches for your brand name. It lets users search your site from Google without visiting it first. Add this to your homepage and you signal to Google that your site is a recognized, organized entity worth surfacing in brand searches.

How to Add Schema Markup to WordPress

There are three methods. Choose based on your setup:

  1. Generate your JSON-LD using the tool above.

  2. Open the page in the WordPress editor.

  3. In the Rank Math panel (right sidebar), go to Schema → Custom Schema.

  4. Paste the JSON content — not the full script tag, just the JSON object inside it.

  5. Save the page. Rank Math adds the script tags automatically.

Method 2: Custom HTML Block (Works on Any WordPress Site)

  1. Generate your JSON-LD using the tool above — copy the full output including the script tags.

  2. In the WordPress block editor, add a Custom HTML block.

  3. Paste the full output (including ).

  4. Place the Custom HTML block at the bottom of the page content.

  5. Update the page.

Method 3: Header/Footer Scripts Plugin

Install a plugin like Insert Headers and Footers by WPCode. Paste your schema script into the header section for site-wide schema (best for WebSite and Person schema), or into individual page headers for page-specific schema. This method is best for schema that applies globally across your entire site.

How to Test and Validate Your Schema

After adding schema to your page, always validate it before assuming it works. Use these two tools:

Important: Google may take 1–4 weeks to show rich results after you add valid schema. If your page passes validation but no rich result appears after 4 weeks, check Google Search Console under Enhancements for schema-specific errors. The most common reason for delayed rich results is that Google has not yet re-crawled the updated page — you can request recrawling through the URL Inspection tool in Search Console.

Schema Markup and AI Search — Why It Matters More Than Ever in 2025

Traditional SEO was about ranking in Google’s ten blue links. Search behaviour has shifted. Users are asking ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews for answers — and these systems pull information from structured, machine-readable content.

Schema markup directly feeds AI discovery in four ways:

This is called Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — positioning your content to be cited and referenced by AI tools, not just ranked in traditional search. Adding schema to your site today is one of the highest-leverage investments you can make for long-term visibility across both Google and AI-driven discovery platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is JSON-LD and why does this generator use it?

JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is Google’s recommended format for schema markup. Unlike older formats that embed schema directly into your HTML content, JSON-LD lives in a separate script block and does not require you to modify your page’s visible content at all. This makes it easy to add, edit, and remove without touching your page design. Google has officially recommended JSON-LD since 2016 and it is now the dominant format used by technical SEOs worldwide.

Does schema markup directly improve my Google rankings?

Schema markup is not a direct ranking factor in the traditional sense. What it does is unlock rich results, which improve your click-through rate. A higher CTR on the same ranking position sends positive engagement signals to Google, which can improve rankings over time. The more immediate benefit is visual presence — your result takes up more space, looks more credible, and answers user questions directly in search results, all of which drive more qualified traffic to your site.

Can I add multiple schema types to the same page?

Yes — and most important pages should have multiple types. Your About page should have both Person and WebSite schema. A blog post should have Article schema plus FAQPage schema if it includes questions and answers. Generate each type separately using this tool, then add them all to the page either as separate Custom HTML blocks or combined in Rank Math’s custom schema section.

Will FAQ schema show my competitor’s answers in search results?

No. FAQ schema only surfaces your own answers from your own page. Each website’s FAQ schema is completely independent. Google selects which FAQ results to show based on its own quality assessments, but the content shown always comes from the specific page that has the schema — never from a competitor.

I run a travel or trekking business in Nepal. Which schema should I use?

Start with LocalBusiness (type: TouristInformationCenter or TravelAgency) on your homepage and contact page. Add FAQPage schema to your tours and destination pages to answer common questions — “How long is the Everest Base Camp trek?” or “What is the best season to trek Annapurna?” Add Article schema to all your travel blog content. This three-schema combination gives you local search presence, FAQ rich results, and content attribution — a strong SEO stack for Nepal tourism businesses that almost none of your competitors are using.

How often should I update my schema markup?

Article schema should be updated whenever you significantly revise a post — change the dateModified field to signal freshness. Person and LocalBusiness schema should be updated whenever your details change: new job title, new address, new social profiles. FAQPage and WebSite schema are relatively static — update them only when the underlying content changes.
